You’ll create a Rippling Legacy API key, give it the required access, and use that key to securely connect Rippling to Clarity.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
You’ll need administrator access to your Rippling account.
Open API Access
In Rippling, go to Settings → Company Settings → API Access.
Create Your API Key
In the API Access section, select Create API Key.
Enter a clear description for the key, such as Clarity Integration, then enable all available scopes in these sections:
- Company Scopes: select all scopes
- Admin Scopes: select all scopes
- Employee Scopes: select all scopes
Select Create to generate the API key.
Save Your API Key
Once Rippling generates the API key, copy it and save it securely. You’ll need it in the final connection step.
KEEP IT SECURE
Treat the API key like a password. Avoid sending it through email or chat whenever possible.
Connect Rippling to Clarity
- Open the secure connection link provided by Clarity and select Allow and Continue.
- Paste the Rippling API key you created, then select Connect.
You’re Connected!
Once the connection is established, Clarity can begin securely syncing the available Rippling data for your integration.
IMPORTANT
This guide applies to the legacy Rippling API-key setup. If your Rippling account uses the newer API Tokens experience, use the current Rippling connection guide instead.
